I provide confidential, professional counselling for adults and young people.
No two people are the same, which is why I don’t believe in a “one size fits all” approach. Together we’ll work at a pace that feels comfortable for you, creating a supportive, non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions and experience these safely.
Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, loss, relationships, stress, or simply feeling overwhelmed, counselling can provide the opportunity to explore what’s happening and move towards lasting change
How Can Counselling Help
Anxiety & Overwhelm
Helping you understand what’s happening beneath the anxiety and develop ways of feeling calmer and more in control.
Self-Esteem & Confidence
Exploring the way you see yourself, challenging unhelpful beliefs and building greater self-trust.
Relationships & Boundaries
Making sense of relationship patterns, communication, attachment and the boundaries you need.
Grief, Loss & Change
A compassionate space to process loss, significant changes and difficult transitions in life.
Trauma & Difficult Experiences
Working gently and at your pace to understand the impact of past experiences and begin moving forward.
Children & Young People
Age-appropriate support for young people experiencing anxiety, emotional difficulties, low confidence, school pressures or other challenges.
My Approach
I believe everyone is different, so therapy should be too. My approach is holistic and pluralistic, which simply means I draw on different therapeutic approaches depending on you, what you’re experiencing and what feels most helpful.
At the heart of my work is creating a warm, supportive and non-judgemental relationship where you can feel heard and understood. Together, we can explore what may be happening for you, understand patterns from the past, and find practical ways to support change in the present.
I draw primarily from Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic Therapy, alongside other therapeutic tools and techniques where appropriate.
Person-Centred Therapy A supportive space where you can talk openly, feel heard and explore your thoughts and feelings without judgement.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Helping you understand the connection between your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, while developing practical ways to create change.
Psychodynamic Therapy Exploring how past experiences and relationships may influence the way you think, feel and respond in the present.
You don’t need to know which approach is right for you. We’ll work together to find what feels most helpful, adapting therapy as your needs change.
What To Expect
Starting counselling can sometimes feel like a big step, particularly if you’ve never experienced therapy before. My aim is to make the process feel as comfortable and straightforward as possible.
Getting in Touch
You’re welcome to contact me with any questions or arrange a free 20-minute telephone consultation. This gives us an opportunity to have a brief chat about what you’re looking for and whether I may be the right therapist for you.
Your First Session
Our first session is an opportunity to get to know one another and talk a little more about what has brought you to counselling. There’s no pressure to share anything before you feel ready.
Working Together
If you decide you’d like to continue, our sessions will be tailored to you. We’ll work collaboratively and at your pace, regularly reflecting on what feels helpful and what you would like to work towards.
There’s no right or wrong way to “do” counselling — you can simply come as you are.
